Saginaw Valley State University is a state university in Michigan and is commonly referred as SVSU. The university is located in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula in the Saginaw valley region and serves cities like Bay City Midland and Saginaw. Although officially the university is located in University Center, Michigan which it shares with Delta College which is several miles to the northwest and is in Bay County, the Saginaw Valley State University is located in the Saginaw county itself. It is the youngest of the 15 public colleges and universities of Michigan. The university has five academic colleges:
- College of Arts and Behavioral Sciences
- Crystal M. Lange College of Nursing and Health Sciences
- College of Business and Management
- College of Education
- College of Science, Engineering and Technology
The Saginaw Valley State University is committed to preparing exemplary educators who can model core democratic values and will possess vision and strategies for educating citizens of US as well as of the world.
The college od education of the university wholeheartedly embrace the responsibility to develop and maintain a center of scholars and life-long learners in partnership with other educational communities. Saginaw Valley State University is committed to its own resources in support of the partnership grant program including funds, personnel and time during the five years of grant support and also when the grant funding has ended.
The Saginaw Valley State University is the home for approximately 10,000 students including mor ethan 350 studentd from more than 50 other countries. The Office of International Programs or OIP is the center of what makes SVSU special for each of the international student. The faulties and staff take special care of each student from the day you are admitted to the university to the day you receive your graduation degree from the university.
