• Clinical Laboratory Scientist Programmer – There are several laboratories and hospitals around the world that advertise the position of online instructors. As an instructor you have to provide guidance to help students learn the online medical courses at that particular medical institute. Guidance apart, an online instructor is also responsible for preparation of examination assignments and correction of examination answer sheets. The academic qualifications required are a bachelor’s degree and a year’s facilitating experience. A master’s degree will always be preferred.

   

• Medical Coder – Technical institutes require teachers who are experienced in hospital and physician coding methods. A coder is also needed for the smooth operations of the billing processes of the hospital. The applicant to these positions should be armed with an associate degree in medical coding.

   

• Online Adjunct Professor – Adjunct professors are perhaps the most frequently advertised positions for online teaching. An online adjunct professor must have a master’s degree in the subject that he will be teaching online. Some institutes however also accept resumes of candidates who are only graduates but have performed exceptionally well in college.

   

• Assistant Online Professor – Colleges and universities require part-time and full-time assistant teaching positions for various departments. However, it is the school of business that requires the maximum number of entrants because online business courses are very popular among the youth. An online assistant professor is a member of the dissertation committees, he is in charge of holding examinations and is also responsible for mentoring the adjunct professors. The minimum academic qualifications required for this position is a doctorate degree in the subject that he is teaching.

   

• Member of Academic Program Chair – This position has both academic and administrative duties attached to it. This member has to look after various areas like delivery of proper online education and ensure that the deserving students are enrolled in the course offered. The constant upgradation of curriculum is also an important area of work for a member of an academic program chair.

   

• Medical Transcription Program Director – This position requires the overseeing and directing of the latest medical transcription programs. A programmer is required to implement and manage the medical curricula under the guidelines set by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). The supervision of the latest medical programs and ensuring that the programs are executed keeping the budget in mind are also some of the duties of a medical transcription program director. Minimum educational qualifications are a certified course in medical transcription from the AHDI. Professional experience in the field is always an added advantage.
